
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player plays as a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) and is captain of San Diego Wave FC. She was also co-captain for the United States women's soccer team from 2018 through 2020 alongside Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. [8][9] Shortly after graduating earlier from the University of California, Berkeley and playing with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was picked as the first overall selection in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. There, she made her professional debut and played in the team's win of the league title. Morgan was just 22 when she was selected to represent the national team in the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011, where they finished as runners-up. In 2012's London Olympics she scored the match-winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final clash against Canada. Her 2012 ended with 28 goals, 21 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score both 20 and 20 goals. She was the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to score 20 goals in a single season. She was subsequently awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year and was also a FIFA World Player of the Year finalist. Morgan helped the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was selected to the Dream Team in both tournaments. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
