Melissa Oneil

MelissaMelissa Crystal O'Neil was born on July 12, 1988[1]. She is a Canadian singer and actress. O'Neil is the first Canadian female winner of Canadian Idol's 3rd season, was the winner in 2005. O'Neil is well-known for her work on Syfy's science fiction series Dark Matter. O'Neil was popular for her character in The Rookie as Officer Lucy Chen. O'Neil was voted among the bottom two and three of the finals. The judges were shocked at this and advised viewers to choose Melissa for her voice talents. O'Neil's performance was consistently praised and O'Neil was not relegated to the bottom three. Zack Werner, the judge, called O'Neil "a potential winner everything". O'Neil, along with Rex Goudie, made it into the finals on September 7, 2005. Werner, a judge famously said that the headlines in the following day's papers would be "The King [Kalan Porter] has passed away. Long live the Queen." O'Neil defeated Goudie in the grand final results ceremony on September 14 on the 14th of September, 2005. O'Neil was also crowned the third Canadian Idol and the first female winner.
